Learning how to use vitamin C for herpes is another valuable tip you can employ to greatly reduce the pain and length of your outbreaks, if not abort them, for just a few pennies.

Can vitamin C cure herpes symptoms in three days? Herpes outbreaks usually last up to three weeks, but taking this easily available vitamin could drastically reduce that time.

These days many people think of vitamin C as a ‘supplement of the past’. Didn’t our great grandparents used to take it to combat scurvy? Wasn’t that way back in the days when ships had enormous wind sails?

Well, yes and no. With a good, nutritionally balanced modern diet, most people will achieve an adequate intake of Vitamin C without the need for any supplement. But what about people who are fighting an infection and whose immune system may be compromised?

Vitamin C is known to be one of the body’s greatest natural assets in the fight against disease (not only scurvy) and in the animal kingdom when creatures become sick, their livers and kidneys automatically produce more vitamin C to reinforce the fight against infection. This process, however, does not occur in certain mammals, including primates and humans.

In the 30′s, Dr Isaac Daïnow from Geneva, researched the oral and intravenous use of vitamin C and observed that almost total remission was visible after three days in many cases. In the 1980′s, northern European researchers tried to assess the efficacy of topical vitamin C treatment. They applied a solution of 100mg of ascorbic acid (vitamin C) dissolved in 3ml of water on herpes lesions for one minute, twice within a 30 minute period They observed that sores healed faster and were less likely to form crusts or become inflamed.

So when you have a herpes outbreak, the vitamin C you have ingested naturally through your diet will get to work in fighting off the infection. The down side of this is that because your liver and kidneys are not naturally producing more, your vitamin C levels are often depleted. And the only way to get those levels back up to fight the good fight is via your diet – or a vitamin C supplement.

Different clinicians have different views about the best ways to supplement your vitamin C levels. I recommend that at the first sign of an outbreak you take 4g of vitamin C. People have told me they have had excellent results with ester-C, but I personally recommend natural or acerola-derived vitamin C only.

Acerola-derived vitamin C does not usually cause the symptoms of nervousness or sleeplessness that artificial vitamin C does. So give it a try.

Next time you feel you are getting a tingling sensation where you are used to getting herpes outbreaks, take 2g of acerola-derived vitamin C. (Please read the label and check for the exact vitamin C content per tablet. 2g of Acerola does not contain 2g of vitamin C.) If you can’t afford it, you can get ascorbic acid powder for a few dollars at your local health store instead. It will still be helpful. I take mine in a glass of water with a dash of apple juice.

After four to six hours, take two more grams. Lower the dose to one gram twice a day after the fourth day and revert to your normal daily dosage after seven days. Please do not take a high dosage of vitamin C long-term without consulting your doctor first.

Used alongside other remedies, Vitamin C makes herpes outbreaks go away really quickly or better still, vanish even before lesions appear. All you will be left with is a vague tingling sensation for a couple of hours. That is it.

Why not try it next time you sense that familiar tingling feeling? Vitamin C alone may not be that helpful but I can guarantee that if you add it to your herpes treatment regimen exactly the way I told you, you should sense some improvement.

If you want a solution that not only will help you cure herpes symptoms from your life and teach you how I never infected my partner in an almost 9 year relationship read more about my herpes antidote. I do not promise a permanent cure but I can honestly say without blinking that it will help you turn your life around in such a way that herpes won’t even be a big deal anymore. Furthermore, my program recommends only safe and all natural remedies like vitamin C for herpes and does not promote dangerous, untested chemicals.

I know that most people feel that herpes itching is one of the worst external symptoms of the virus. If you have had the sensation of wanting to scratch your skin so much that you no longer care about the consequences, you will be happy to read that there are some solutions available. I have spoken to people who can barely sleep or wake up in the middle of the night because of the urge to scratch their blisters. It is a really frustrating and potentially embarrassing situation for people who get rashes and itching during herpes outbreaks.

Scratching is about the worst thing you can do when a bout of herpes itching occurs. However tempting it may be, the danger of infecting the sores or leaving scars is far worse. Also, scratching sores or rashes and causing bleeding is certainly going to take longer to heal, so you will only be prolonging the outbreak. For people with newly-acquired herpes, there is some good news: the blisters, rashes and itchiness only occur during an outbreak. You can continue with a normal life the rest of the time.

The other good news is that there are some remedies which offer relief from the sensation of itching. Taking a bath with Epsom salts twice a day will do wonders to relieve herpes itching. It is very important to dry the affected area gently but thoroughly afterwards. Don’t forget to change towels and clothing, too.

Another solution to bring relief from pain is to apply ice to the blisters or sores. The ice has the effect of numbing the area, so the sense of itchiness is lessened and so is the pain.

I have heard from readers who find Gold Bond medicated body powder effective in reducing itchiness.
Gold Bond powder also comes in an extra strength version with menthol in it. Mint essential oil has been proven to numb herpes pain and I used it with great success many years ago. It relieves the stinging feeling but not the itching. I’m a bit concerned the extra strength formula may be too strong once you have reached sore stage depending on where your outbreak is located, so I would offer a word of warning.

The main ingredient in regular Gold Bond powder is zinc oxide. I have heard similar positive reports about other creams and powders containing zinc oxide. Zinc oxide is well-known for its healing properties when used on the skin, so other products containing zinc oxide may well help prevent herpes itching and soothe the pain of blisters and sores. If you’re not located in the US or can’t find Gold Bond powder near you, you may want to try a very neutral baby powder whose main active ingredient is zinc oxide for similar results. Zinc sulfate creams and powder may work the same way or slightly better. Both are likely to reduce the duration of your herpes outbreaks.

Another helpful solution is to apply a small amount of tea tree essential oil 3 or 4 times a day to a painful herpes rash or blisters. Again this has a soothing effect, but don’t use it for more than 4 days in a row. It’s only helpful if you start using it at the beginning of an outbreak. Tea tree oil becomes ineffective against herpes 24 hours after infection. Several other essential oils provide herpes itching and pain relief. I actually provide an exact formula to treat herpes outbreaks which is great for alleviating all herpes symptoms, pain, rashes and itchiness. You can read more about it here.

Aside from treating the symptoms, it is also important to avoid wearing synthetic fabrics which prevent the skin from breathing and to use cotton underwear. In general, it is better to wear loose clothing during an outbreak to avoid aggravating the symptoms. Tight clothes which cause perspiration will only make matters worse

Sexual activity should be totally off the menu up until your outbreak has fully healed. You will be more at risk of contaminating your partner and spreading herpes during an outbreak. In any case, the friction only makes the itching and the pain worse.

Don’t despair when herpes itching makes you feel like you are going mad. Remedies do exist that can relieve herpes itching and also cut short outbreaks. Use all the remedies and recommendations mentioned above. If this is not enough, I strongly suggest you try my Herpes Antidote program. It contains numerous life-saving tips to prevent itching, stop scratching and to abort an outbreak of herpes in just a few hours.

What women with herpes need to know if they have frequent outbreaks before or during menstruation or at menopause

Women often report to me that they are more prone to herpes flare-ups in the week prior to and during menstruation. I have also noticed that most of my former outbreaks occurred between four to five days before or during the first three days of menstruation. Preliminary research indicates there may be a link between herpes and naturally occurring female hormones. That link it seems is not always very clear except in the case of prostaglandins.
Prostaglandins are substances found all over the human body. Some small studies have shown that a certain type of prostaglandin known as E2 can exacerbate herpes while another, E1, can suppress the virus. During menopause and ahead of menstruation the levels of prostaglandin E1 decrease and other kinds of prostaglandins increase. That is why women with high prostaglandin E2 levels suffer from more severe symptoms of herpes in general and in particular during PMS.

Women can regulate their levels of prostaglandins E1 and E2 through supplementation. Some dietary supplements can be taken to inhibit the production of E2 during PMS. For example, fish oil has been demonstrated to modulate the production of interferons and the proliferation of lymphocytes in a way that decreases prostaglandin E2 production. Flaxseed oil supplementation has a similar effect.

Herbs like curcuma and St John’s Wort can also influence the level of prostaglandins in the female body. The traditional remedy, St John’s Wort or Hypericum perforatum, is known as an antiviral and antidepressant. Naturopaths often recommend taking St John’s Wort in oil form to treat an outbreak of herpes, but it can also be taken internally. It has the effect of calming the nerves and of lowering the PGE2 levels, so it is doubly beneficial.
Aspirin has also been medically proven to inhibit production of prostaglandin. A 2002 study in the US made a connection between aspirin and the prevention of cytomegalovirus or CMV. Some evidence shows that this could be the same for the herpes virus.

Some foods on the contrary can exacerbate the problem, promoting prostaglandin E2 production. The most obvious one is chocolate. Chocolate is known to stimulate the production of herpes activity promoting prostaglandin. Women who are victims of PMS or who are going through menopause should avoid chocolate as much as possible. To make things worse chocolate contains high arginine content, making it best avoided by both men and women with herpes especially during outbreaks.

Women with herpes who have PMS are also advised to stay away from tea and coffee during the days prior to menstruation as these beverages increase symptoms such as breast tenderness and irritability. However, white and green teas both contain catechins which have been found to inhibit the production of prostaglandin E2 and also inactivate the herpes virus in test tubes. That’s why I used to recommend it and still do but in more moderate amounts and outside of PMS or menstruation. Women are just much better off taking an herbal tea like St John’s Wort that soothes the nerves, reduces prostaglandins E2 and fights herpes at the same time.

Other hormones may also be responsible for an increase in susceptibility to herpes in women, especially to the genital herpes virus, HSV-2. Scientific research is contradictory, but progesterone has been singled out as a potential contributing factor. Many women have themselves indicated that taking progesterone supplements has caused herpes infections to return.

Links have also been made between other hormones like estrogen and the HSV or herpes simplex virus, suggesting that it may be reactivated after a period of latency by taking oral contraception which contains high levels of synthetic estrogen. Scientific research has not yet proven such links, however.

Overall, I strongly suggest that women modify their diet and use supplementation to positively impact on levels of prostaglandin E2 and E1 in order to have outbreak free PMS, menstruation and menopause. I also suggest that women with sudden or unexplained regular outbreaks try going off synthetic or natural progesterone and estrogenic drugs for at least three months to follow how they may be impacting their symptoms.

If you suffer from constant outbreaks, I strongly suggest you try my Herpes Antidote program. Here is what a young lady who has been having outbreaks twice a month for months recently said to me.

————————————————————

Dear Natalie:

Just want to give you an update how things are going. I have not had an outbreak since March 9th and I am in the middle of my time of the month. I would have had one now.

I am using …

I notice that my symptoms are less and less. This never happened before. … I know that your program is working I can tell.

I would like to know what your daily routine is and how you incorporate all your remedies and foods into your day? Just for more ideas.
———————————————————————–

So if you want to treat herpes naturally and rid yourself of herpes symptoms even during menstruation, I strongly suggest you try my Herpes Antidote program.

Like I always say, it may take some time to get rid of herpes symptoms entirely but you should experience gradual improvement over time even if you’ve had outbreaks for years.

I get asked this question a lot ” Is it genital herpes?”. I don’t just get asked it by people who don’t know they have it but also by people who have already been diagnosed and especially from people who have tried my Herpes Antidote for a few weeks. Sometimes, these people will feel a constant or recurring itch or a rash, but blisters will never appear.
It usually means that they are well on their way to controlling herpes but have not reach full control yet.

I’m against providing any form of herpes diagnosis on line because it’s already hard enough to identify at the doctor’s office. For me, it’s just unrealistic to think one can diagnose it on line. You can get a guesstimate but nothing really conclusive.

So I am going to focus here on people who already have herpes. The main issue when you’re becoming more and more asymptomatic – and that’s what happens when you follow my Herpes antidote program – is that it becomes more and more difficult to assess whether it is herpes causing a mild rash or just something else. Often at these sub-levels of symptoms a doctor’s examination will not bring you any form of clarity or relief.

In the light of a recent independent study, it seems that most asymptomatic shedding episodes last only 7 to 13 hours, whether you’re taking suppressive therapy or not. Asymptomatic shedding symptoms are very mild or non-existent. They’re called asymptomatic because the person suffering from herpes does not notice anything. If you’ve read my first book, Herpes Wise, or even my newsletter, you know that one of the first, but very important steps you can take to prevent herpes transmission is to learn how to identify the mildest symptoms. In my new program, Herpes Antidote, I even teach you how to identify the triggers that have the greatest probability of leading to symptoms. Why is that? Just because I have observed countless times that the sooner you treat a herpes outbreak, the sooner it goes away.

But let me return to the core of the subject “Is it genital herpes?” Some people feel they are constantly in between outbreaks and suffer continually from constant itching or a constant rash. Others have intermittent symptoms. Current research confirms that asymptomatic shedding or very mild symptoms usually only last half a day. This indicates that if you have long-lasting symptoms, you probably have several issues at the same time.

The main difference between a herpes infection and an allergy, for example, is its location. If you feel a mild itch in a small area where you previously had symptoms then you are very likely to be suffering from herpes. If you’re not sure, you may want to run to the lab and take a PCR test. If herpes is present then you can be absolutely sure it is herpes related.

In other situations it might be that herpes has damaged your nerves a bit and what you’re feeling is the lingering sensation of a previous outbreak. I remember feeling this during my first and second year of herpes, but not all the time. I think it might have been because my symptoms were quite severe at that time.

It may also be because some other illness or condition like the menopause may be causing herpes to shed more often. In that case you might feel symptoms for one or two days then nothing, but in very short intervals.

However, if your symptoms are constant, not really evolving much and occurring in short bouts, it’s probable that it’s something other than herpes. This doesn’t mean herpes will not infect you on top of that. With herpes you should feel a short peak that lasts no longer than 12 to 48 hours where you had a previous outbreak or in a rather small area.

If your symptoms affect all of your genital area and anus and you’ve had primo-infection and are not immuno-compromised then again it’s quite unlikely that what’s at play is genital herpes.

Of course if your symptoms are followed by a normal outbreak with blisters and wet sores or just one bigger sore, you can be quite certain it is very likely to be herpes related.

I have given support to many people who stopped having outbreaks or just weren’t sure the symptoms they were having between outbreaks were herpes related. They have usually found these guidelines quite helpful. However, if you really want to be certain because you’re concerned about transmitting herpes to your partner or your partner just can’t stand that you have to refrain from sex so much, my only advice is to try and get PCR tests a few times. I know they can be quite costly but I think it could be a great investment. Understanding symptoms is your first way of protecting your partner and yourself from further herpes symptoms.

That said, those guidelines should really help you answer the question “is it genital herpes” and make things a bit clearer for you. Maybe you’ll find it reassuring to know that I have had two partners in the past ten years and neither has gotten herpes from me. However, I cannot stress enough that the more you know your body’s herpes signs, the better chance you have of protecting your partner. You can greatly reduce herpes transmission risk this way. Actually some doctors believe it cuts them by 50%.

If you want to learn how I remained symptoms free and never infected anyone in ten years, you can read more here

A recent study has tried to explain why suppressive therapy only cut herpes transmission risks by half. Suppressive therapy is the term used to describe taking herpes drugs like acyclovir or valacyclovir (also known as Zovirax and Valtrex) daily. This herpes treatment usually stops most herpes outbreaks.

Twenty years ago doctors used to believe that herpes could only be transmitted during herpes recurrent or first episodes. This belief has been challenged ever since and research has demonstrated that herpes can be transmitted without any visible signs. This usually occurs during asymptomatic shedding. Asymptomatic shedding is quite simple to understand. It means shedding without symptoms. In other words, it means that the virus travels down the nerve paths where it usually remains inactive all the way to skin cells where it can be transmitted.

Asymptomatic shedding has been the ’accepted’ 20th century scientific explanation of otherwise unexplained herpes transmission. Herpes drug companies have, since then, concentrated their efforts on demonstrating that their drugs reduce the risk of herpes transmission by reducing asymptomatic shedding. I remember reading that asymptomatic shedding could be reduced by up to 90%. But if asymptomatic shedding is cut by 90% then why are transmission risks cut by only 48%?

According to this new study, this could be explained by the fact that most asymptomatic episodes last less than 7 to 13 hours, depending on whether the subject is using medical suppressive therapy or not. The number of asymptomatic shedding days varied from 10 to 22.6 days for those undergoing suppressive therapy and 28.7 days per year for those not undergoing therapy. The best results where obtained for standard dosage acyclovir. High dose valacyclovir or acyclovir therapy did not seem to improve things much from standard dosage. Suppressive therapy did not seem to impact the prevalence of the virus in tissue samples.

So what does this mean for you and me? It means that we have to be extra careful about these very short and mild symptoms. It seems that herpes can become infectious for only half a day and then leave the skin.
I have noticed in the past that I would get some mild itching for three hours and then nothing at all. If you know what to look for, you have a greater chance of protecting your partner.
If you are taking suppressive therapy, please be aware that it is only cutting your number of shedding days by half.

Now, I can’t help but wonder why I did not transmit herpes to my former partner of almost nine years and why several women who have written to me also stayed several years with the same partner without transmitting herpes? I think there must be something more to herpes transmission than is presented here. Someone told me that another person who sells herpes recovery advice online claims that it is all a big conspiracy and that asymptomatic shedding does not exist. I don’t think that is the case. I do, however, wonder if asymptomatic shedding may not always be contagious.

Until a new vaccine hits the market or some suppressive therapy becomes effective at stopping all shedding without any potential long-term side-effects, like kidney failure, I invite you to try the all natural suppressive herpes treatment I’ve been using and which has now helped me prevent transmitting herpes to two men in 10 years. You can use it alongside your medical treatment to make it even more effective or choose like me to quit using any herpes drug.

This is a reply to a question posted on my new herpes questions and answer plugin. My reply was so long that I decided to turn it into an article and place it here.

What Do You Mean By “Cure Herpes”?

I don’t mean anything. I don’t say that I can help you cure herpes, rather I say that I have found a method to help control herpes to the point where it does not matter whether you have it or not. What I mean by that is that you can live without worrying about experiencing herpes symptoms. I cannot claim that my program removes all transmission risks, but what I can say is that I have never transmitted herpes to anyone in ten years. I have only had two partners during that time but neither of them displayed any herpes symptoms and one took a blood test with a negative result.

Many people ask me whether my program is a herpes cure that will eradicate the virus from the body or that can turn their herpes blood test negative.

No one can tell you with certainty whether the virus is present in your body. What doctors assume is that as herpes has been observed to cause symptoms throughout a lifetime, it never leaves the body. This seems a sensible assumption. However, doctors or scientists cannot prove whether a virus has left a person’s body. What they can determine is whether the virus has been detected in the genital or oral area.

The herpes virus is often detected from tissue samples even when no visible symptoms are present. This is referred to as asymptomatic shedding.

What doctors have found is that even people who have never had a clinical history of herpes shed herpes on a certain number of days. They used PCR (Polymerase chain reaction) tests which are believed to return extremely reliable positive results. For example, in this study only one person out of 53 who had been diagnosed with herpes through a blood test did not show any form of herpes shedding. In other words, once you have herpes you have a greater than 98% chance of shedding herpes and therefore you have it, whether you have symptoms or not.

PCR tests are quite costly and I don’t think many people could afford to get a PCR test in several locations at the same time every day for a year just to check whether they had got rid of herpes or not. I know I’m not willing to spend that kind of money. That’s why most people rely on blood testing these days.

The most reliable herpes test is the Western blot test. It’s very expensive. That’s why most people rely on more affordable tests even though their level of accuracy may be a little inferior. Some studies have tried to benchmark commercially available herpes blood tests to the Western Blot tests. Some are just much better than others.

After receiving so many emails asking me whether you could cure herpes with my program, I decided to take the test. My test was found to be 98% as sensitive as the Western Blot test from Washington University. I was found equivocal for HSV-2 and negative for HSV-1. Equivocal means uncertain. In other words, despite my formerly extremely painful herpes history, my blood test did not show enough antibodies to make me herpes positive. This has never been my goal. My goal was not to have any pain and not to transmit herpes to anyone else. That is already the case.

This blood test shows me I must be doing something right. I will take another test in a year or so to see whether it is still equivocal. If so, I will try to get a Western blot test, though I’m not sure that is possible in Europe. I won’t be doing this for my own benefit though, just for the people who read me.

Do my results mean you will be getting the same results – and if so when?I know some people love to jump to conclusions. Maybe my result is a significant one and maybe not. Whatever the case, it does not mean you will get the same results. I have been asymptomatic for eight years now, so it might take many years before your herpes blood test is no longer positive. I don’t know.

What I do know is that most people who adhere diligently to my program experience significant improvements in their situation. For some women, it may take weeks before they see results and for others just 24 hours. It seems that menopausal women are the ones who are having the hardest time. If this is you situation, it may not be wise to expect immediate results. Men seem to obtain good results faster.

Whatever your status, my Herpes Antidote program can help you improve your situation. I will never claim it can cure herpes. I can only talk about my experience and my readers’ experiences. All I know is the kind of results we have seen, i.e. no symptoms and no herpes transmission. I think that is really fantastic.

It’s no secret, the holiday season is often a major cause of unhealthy eating, excess alcohol consumption and good old-fashioned stress. This is the perfect combination to invite back our old friend, Mr. Herpes Outbreak. So if you really don’t want Miss Blister and Mr Sore tagging along with Santa this Christmas, read on.

When you’re under stress, with lots to do and a lot of chocolate, cakes and sweets just asking to be eaten you put yourself at risk of having a major outbreak. Sugar, alcohol and stress all lower your immune system. Chocolate may also be a big herpes trigger. I know it is one of mine, and eating lots of meat will give the herpes virus energy to replicate itself.

So how do you do to go through this Holiday Season smoothly? You prepare. I have always been a strong advocate of taking remedies, no matter which treatment at trigger time. What I mean by that is that you don’t wait for that familiar tingle or rash. You take those herpes remedies when you think you have a strong probability you might have an outbreak. I’m not going to go into more detail here. I give all details in my new program Herpes Antidote. If you apply this basic principle, you are much more likely never to experience any outbreak or to experience something so mild it will be gone in a few hours.

Here are some of the things I recommend you do. Drink a lot of water – not fruit juice, tea or coffee – plain water. Take 4g of vitamin C per day in 1g dosage throughout the day until the end of New Year and a few days after that. Take a multi-vitamin supplement daily as well. Try to find one that is not made out of synthetic vitamins. I always think it is best to get a natural based one. If you have lysine at home, take it as if you were having an outbreak. I know, I usually don’t recommend it, but I think lysine is OK in the short-term and I know a lot of you are taking it or have tried it so there is a fair chance you may have some lying on the shelf somewhere. Scientific studies indicate that it works better if used before any herpes symptoms appear. Don’t go out of your way to buy it specially, but if you have it at home take at least 2g a day and double that if you feel the slightest tingle. Stop taking lysine around the 6th of January.

I’m not going to tell you to try and stay calm and get some rest because I’m sure you already know that is what you really should do and I’m equally sure that you probably won’t be able to do that before the end of the season. However, one simple thing you can do is to calm yourself down with this cool little technique.

Put your hand on your heart. Close your eyes. Breathe in to the count of six. Breathe out to the count of six. You can start at a lower number if you’re stressing out. Repeat that a few times. It will calm you down in a very short time.

I wish you a wonderful time, shared fun, love and warmth. If this is not a holiday time for you and your family, you can always go back and read this article when it is.

Having genital herpes is a life-long condition. It is not something that will ever be cured, or run its course. But you can enjoy a normal sex life with herpes. Your primary goal should be to establish a symptom-free state. Your second goal to understand how to recognize the smallest signs of an imminent herpes outbreak; your third goal, I will tell you more about at the end of this article.

Before you do anything, you should first discover if you really have herpes and if so what type of herpes you have. For this you will need to undergo a herpes test carried out by a qualified physician. Common herpes types can affect either the oral or genital area. The type of herpes you have and where it is located will determine whether you are more or less likely to transmit herpes. The greatest risk of transmission comes with genital herpes type II, closely followed by oral herpes simplex virus I (HSV-1). If you have herpes type I, you are far less likely to transmit genital herpes than if you have HSV-2 genital herpes, though you can transmit oral herpes during oral sex. There is a lot of information on herpes transmission, and some of it can be quite confusing. However, if you understand what level of transmission risks apply to your situation, you can filter out erroneous or inappropriate information.

Once you know which type of herpes you have, you can focus on returning to a normal sex life with herpes. To do so it is essential to remain symptom free. Normal sexual activity can only be resumed once you are free of symptoms. It is not enough to protect your genital area or your blisters, sores and rashes in the hope you will not infect your partner. You should refrain from sex during an outbreak and avoid all contact with the infected area. Many people with herpes can identify the early indications of an impending outbreak. There are hallmark signs that are specific to the individual. These include things like fever, fatigue, muscle weakness and aching. Unfortunately, you may have to experience several outbreaks before you can pinpoint these tell-tale signs. I have found a method that can make things much faster for you.

Herpes outbreaks often recur most frequently during the first year after infection. Pay attention to your body signs regularly. This will help you understand any signal that a herpes recurrence may be imminent. At the first sign of any symptoms, you should stop having sex. Even though this may result in some false starts and stops, you must persevere until you have reached the zero herpes symptoms point. You may possibly continue experiencing some form of itchiness. Itching can occur for many reasons, but it will not usually last long, and should not disturb your sex life with herpes too much.

I have created an entirely safe and natural suppressive therapy program that can eliminate most outbreaks I sell it on this website at http://www.herpesantidote.com. You can also try medical suppressive therapy, but I do not believe this is worth the risk of long-term side-effects.

Unfortunately, getting rid of genital herpes symptoms is not enough. Herpes can still infect your partner even though you may have no visible signs of herpes on your skin. This phenomenon is often referred to as “asymptomatic shedding” and explains how someone with herpes might unknowingly infect someone else. Fortunately, there are ways in which you can significantly reduce asymptomatic shedding; one is by paying attention to even the tiniest signs of an impending herpes outbreak.

Experts have determined that the number of herpes virus shedding days, and consequently the risk of transmitting herpes, is highest in the first year after infection. That is why I think it might be acceptable to take medical suppressive therapy during this time, but only alongside the combination of natural remedies which I recommend. These two combined therapies will help you return to a normal sex life with herpes as fast as possible without putting your partner(s) at too much risk.

Because your sexual behavior influences your sex life, I advocate choosing a supportive partner with whom you can grow. A steady sex partner who is supportive and understanding is extremely helpful for people with herpes. You must disclose the fact that you have herpes regardless of your fear of rejection before any form of sexual contact with your new partner. Let your new partner make up his or her mind as to what course of action to take. If (s)he decides to go along with it, the fact that you disclosed your situation actually reduces the risk of transmitting herpes. If you are both willing to refrain from having sex at the smallest signs of herpes, and you are taking appropriate suppressive therapy, you will be able to resume a normal sex life with herpes after a few weeks. It has been scientifically established that it is people with undiagnosed herpes who run the greatest risk of transmitting herpes.

Often the biggest frustration of your sex life with herpes is the fact that you must use latex condoms. A recent study found that the use of condoms only reduced the risk of herpes transmission by 30%. So you might wonder if, after a few years together, it is still worth bothering to use them. I know I did, and I must confess I did not always. You and your partner may choose to forego the use of condoms, but this will increase your risk of transmitting herpes, and so it is something you must absolutely decide together. This is not a decision I can make for you and I would certainly not advise this approach in any new relationship. All I can say is that I did not transmit herpes to my partner despite the fact we did not use condoms all the time. I do, however, always recommend the use of a water-based lubricant. Decreased friction helps reduce the risk of micro-ulceration of the skin. Some women also report that friction during sex can causes herpes recurrences.

I hope this article has given you an idea of how it is possible to have a normal sex life with herpes.
If you take all the steps above, you will be more than likely to enjoy greater intimacy and have a great love life. Herpes does not have to rule your life. It certainly does not rule mine any more. To enjoy success with preventative techniques may take some learning and persistence, but in the end it’s all worth it.

Genital herpes can spread from one partner to the other even when no symptoms are visible. However, there are plenty of things you can do to present transmitting herpes to your partner many your doctor won’t tell you about.

Approximately 20 percent of Americans have genital herpes. An important seven to nine out of 10 individuals who have it are unaware that they have it because they don’t have or don’t notice any tell-tale blisters on their genitals. Genital herpes can be transmitted even if the virus carrier isn’t showing any symptoms, although the likelihood of transmission is greatly increased when there are visible sores.

How is genital herpes spread?

Genital herpes is spread through sexual or skin-to-skin contact with a person who has genital herpes or during oral sex with someone who has oral herpes (cold sores). Herpes is most contagious when the sores are open and fluid leaks out, but can nevertheless infect anyone at any stage.

Genital herpes can be spread even by herpes sufferers who don’t show any symptoms. This is because even normal skin (without herpes blisters) still sheds the virus during asymptomatic infections, so the infected person may still transmit the disease to their sex partner(s). A pregnant mother who has no visible herpes symptoms may also pass on the virus to her baby during childbirth.

How to prevent genital herpes from spreading?

Several factors influence your chances of transmitting herpes; one is whether you practice safe sex, take herpes drugs daily, whether you are aware you have herpes and if you have disclosed it to your sexual partner.

Condoms:
Even though condom use does not completely prevent genital herpes from spreading, it reduces the risk of transmission by 30% to 50%.

Suppressive therapy:
Can suppressive therapy reduce the chance of transmitting herpes? Taking the herpes drugs acyclovir or valacyclovir (Valtrex) daily helps relieve the pain and discomfort associated with herpes and also makes the sores heal more quickly; In clinical studies, valacyclovir and acyclovir both reduced herpes transmission by 50%.

Proper Diagnosis:
Two factors influence whether or not a person will spread herpes to someone else. One is whether that person actually knows (s)he has herpes; the other is which type of herpes (s)he has.

A very large number of people infected with herpes, about 80% of them, are not aware they are carrying the virus. This means they will not pay any attention to herpes signs or else will fail to recognize their symptoms as herpes related. This puts their sexual partners at greater risk of getting herpes from them. Herpes spreads from partner to partner often unnoticed or sometimes only noticed after a long interval.

Testing for herpes removes the risk of transmitting herpes to someone unknowingly. If it turns out you have herpes then you will have the opportunity to take preventive measures to protect your partner from infection.

Telling your partner:

A scientific study tried to establish whether or not the fact that someone knew they had herpes and disclosed it to their partner impacted on the probability of them transmitting it to someone else. Their conclusion was that people who had been properly diagnosed and disclosed herpes were less likely to spread the virus.

Disclosing your herpes infection will also influence your sexual behavior and therefore your chances of transmitting herpes to someone else. In other words, knowing and disclosing your herpes status is one of the greatest favors you can do for anyone you may consider sleeping with.

How to stop spreading genital herpes? My personal experience and advice:

Once you know you have acquired herpes, your first goal should be to learn how to prevent herpes symptoms. Suppressive therapy is one option. I have made a personal choice not to use herpes drugs and I haven’t infected anyone with herpes even after having remained for nine years with the same man. That’s why I believe that medical suppressive therapy and condoms are just two of the many options you have.

Remaining asymptomatic can cut your chances of spreading herpes by half. Indeed, shedding time among people who are asymptomatic and those who are not differs by 50%. No shedding means no transmission risk, so becoming asymptomatic is an important factor.

Another way to reduce herpes transmission risk is to learn how to recognize your early herpes signs. The late Dr Stephen Sacks, author of The Truth about Herpes, believed you could cut asymptomatic shedding by half just by paying close attention to symptoms. I totally agree with him and have used that strategy diligently with great success.

If you would like to learn another way of reducing your chance of transmitting herpes to anyone by up to four times, I invite you to…

But I’m willing to bet that t is not what you wanted to read when you reached this page. Why? Because herpes is a virus.
So how about killing herpes inside the body? Would you saturate your cells with a toxic detergent in the hopes of killing that mean sucker that likes to nag you from time to time with a nasty itch and an ugly sore? I know I wouldn’t, the main idea being to kill the virus without killing myself !. As a writer and something of a herpes sufferer’s fairy godmother, I have always warned others about the dangers of trying to kill herpes at the expense of killing themselves or at least drastically harming their health.

One good example is BHT or butylhydroxytoluene (say what?). This strangely named compound is a commonly used as a cosmetic/food preservative. It was promoted in the 80’s as a herpes cure that could kill herpes internally. As such, it seemed a wonderful idea to take BHT internally in heavy doses in the hope of curing herpes once and for all (bye bye sucker) and several people have done just that. Many reported improvement of their symptoms and some total elimination.

So why am I not charging $300 to sell the secret cure that will cure your herpes for life in a fancy looking bottle with just as fancy a remedy name like Solve Herpes? (If some of you believe this to be a private joke. It is. (wink. wink)… Because I actually know that BHT is likely to severely damage your liver and promote cancer at these so-called “therapeutic levels”. In this context, “therapeutic levels” is just a total oxymoron.

So how do you kill herpes? In test tubes! If you want to eradicate herpes in your body without killing yourself maybe you will be interested to learn a formula that is simple and safe and may not eliminate herpes entirely from your body, but from your life. Now you can eliminate herpes symptoms and their consequences naturally; i.e. prevent herpes transmission without killing yourself in the attempt by testing this suppressed, secret, underground, restricted by the FDA and all strangely named governmental agencies, cure that will not only make you sick in your stomach but could cause you to lose a kidney or cause thyroid malfunction.

If you want a solution that not only will help you eliminate herpes symptoms from your life and teach you how I never infected my partner in an almost 9 year relationship read more about my herpes antidote. I do not promise a permanent cure nor tell you that it will kill herpes from your body for ever but I can honestly say without blinking that it will help you turn your life around in such a way that herpes won’t even be a big deal anymore. Furthermore, my program recommends only safe and all natural remedies and does not promote dangerous, untested chemicals that could kill you before they kill herpes.
